And that's how many steps I climbed up today.
Day 8.
It's a lot of steps all at once, let me tell ya.
But, other then that it's just been kind of a "sit down and relax day." So this morning, we started off with class, and then I went with Cassie, Taylor, Kyla, and Tim to St. Paul's Cathedral. Suuuper cool. Unfortunately, there's also somewhat of a lack of pictures from this event, as there's also no pictures allowed actually in the Cathedral.

The Cathedral Stairs
- Where the lady in Mary Poppins sings the 2 pence song while throwing bread to the birds! :) |
Now, in the Cathedral, you can climb your way up to the dome. This is where the 530 steps comes in.
The first level, The Whispering Gallery, goes into the top of the dome, still
in the Cathedral - 90 feet from the main floor. That's the first 259 stairs. Then, you can keep going up, up, up to the Stone Gallery (119 more stairs), which brings you outside the dome...

Zoomed in on The GLOBE!
I get to go there this week :) |
Then. You can continue up, up, up, again! 152 more stairs. To the Golden Gallery!
 |
| Up these little spiral staircases... |
 |
| And these little skinny stairways.... |
 |
Can you even see that little red square in this picture now??
Well, that's where the Golden Gallery is... :) |

| On our way back down... |
 |
Trapped! --Definitely what it felt like at times.
The stairs never. ended. |
It was wonderful. And a great workout - let me tell ya. But SOOOO worth it. :)
On the way back, us girls discovered that we're a lot more daring when crossing the street, compared to Tim. Therefore, while we were waiting for him on the other side of the street, I finally got my pictures of the crosswalk red man and green man. Ready to meet them? They're our friends... ;)
 |
Meet Red Man.
He keeps you safe from being run over by crazy London drivers
(For the most part) |
 |
Meet Green Man!
He's our favorite. :) |
Cassie, Taylor and I then headed back to the flat, which is when Cass and I made our pasta. I've never used our stove yet, and Cass actually has a
normal stove in the basement flat. So...adventure time with the touch-stove. (Yup. It's a touch screen) No worries though, we were successful in cooking our pasta, without burning down the flat. ;)
So... yup. That's pretty much the day! Just kinda kickin back, and relaxing after climbing up and back down so many stairs for the day. (And that's not including the tube stations or anything else either. Haha.)
Love the whispering gallery... so cool! The tower bridge is where the strange cabby dropped me off after trying to harass me in his cab! Still worth it... maybe you should get there in person before the night before you are leaving... that is safer considering your already tainted record with foreign men!
