From this beautiful idea came our glorious breakfast. :)
First, however, we made a run to Great Harvest. :) Yes. Great Harvest truly says it all in the name- it's very great indeed!
We purchased some bread - Honey Wheat and Pumpkin Spice, to be exact - and a most delicious whole wheat cinnamon roll. :)
Did ya get that? ---> D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S.
Yes. :)
Upon arrival back to Audrey's apartment, we contemplated our issue of "We have no syrup for the pancakes we are about to make." So, guess what. We. Made. Our. Own. --Yes. We made syrup. Not maple syrup- considering "maple flavoring" would be needed in order to do that. And let's be real - what college student would have maple flavoring, just sitting in the cupboard? Anyhoo… So, we were pretty dang proud of ourselves, I must say...
And now, for the the unveiling of the greatness. Our recipe…
Kenzie and Audrey’s
Magical Syrup Ingredients:
1 cup water
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup agave
5 dashes cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
About 1 tsp(ish) of vanilla
Directions:
In a sauce pan, on medium heat, combine water and sugars, and let dissolve. Then, add agave and cinnamon. Stir. Then add baking soda. Stir. *Caution, it might fizz a little.* Let it dissolved and bring everything to a light boil and stir occasionally for ten minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool for... mmm... 2 1/2 minutes. After, add vanilla. Stir. Let sit for... 30 seconds. Taste. Enjoy.
Put on preferably tasty pancakes. Or waffles. Or any other breakfast food of choice. :)
Such wonderful times with friends. :)
And now, pictures from the greatness :)
